The Alabama Gulf Coast consists of only two counties, Baldwin and Mobile County.
Mobile Bay splits the coast line between the two counties. The most popular beach resort communities consist of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach and include the unincorporated areas known by locals as Ono Island and Fort Morgan. There are several communities in Baldwin County that are close proximity to the Gulf of Mexico beaches and Mobile Bay. There are also several waterways, bays, and canals that focus on water front homes and water front condos. A well known perk of the area is more than likly the Indra Coastal Waterway that connects pracitically all of the bodies of water.
Gulf Shores is located in a resort vaction area

a shade of emerald green and the sand is called a sugar white (by locals). There are lots of wonderful
seafood restaurants featuring locally caught seafood and many
business establishments that market to tourists. There are four major tourist
seasons - the spring break season, summer vacation season, the back to
school season, and the snow bird season. Condos on the beach are very popular with

Orange Beach is some what similar to Gulf Shores with it's beach front properties. The major advantage to Orange Beach would have to be Perdido Pass which is a major inlet to Perdido Bay. Perdido Bay connects with Cotton Bayou, Terry Cove, Arnica Bay, Wolf Bay, Soldier Creek, and numerous other waterways which surround the Orange Beach area with water. The Inter Coastal Waterway connects other major water ways as Perdido Bay with Bon Secour and Mobile Bay to the West and Pensacola Bay to the East. These interconnected waterways is what makes Orange Beach extremly popular with boaters and fishermen alike. Bay front condos, canal front condos and Bay front homes are very popular here for that reason alone and it also adds a little more than the typical beach front ammenities. Perdido Pass also includes the public islands - Robinson Island and Bird Island that are popular with the boaters on the weekend. There is also a Fishing Charter Boat business demand here and the coastal waters offshore contain many artificial reefs that can be counted on to provide great fishing. Orange Beach Real Estate consist of Orange Beach Homes for sale, Orange Beach Condos for sale , and Orange Beach Commercial Real Estate. You also have a huge demand for Beach Front Condos for Lease which should do well for the Beach Front Home and Condo Investor.
Ono Island Homes is an island ocean Front subdivision with gated entry that demands to privacy and security. There are several high end luxury beach homes on the island and several of those include boating facilitiy docks and slips either on the bay or interior canals and waterways. Fort Morgan is a narrow peninsula (water on three sides) which extends West from Gulf Shores. The Gulf of Mexico to the South and Bon Secour and Mobile Bay to the North. At the terminus of the peninsula is an actual fort named Fort Morgan. (which was named in honor of Revolutionary War hero Daniel Morgan ) The facility protected the mouth of Mobile Bay and is still open for touring. Don't forget to check out the ferry that shuttles traffic from Fort Morgan area across Mobile Bay to Dauphin Island (which happens to be my wife's favorite place). Fort Morgan consists mainly beach houses, however there are some beach front condos in the area and on the bay. Fort Morgan Condos are scares compared to Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, but there are several beach houses to choose from in the area.
